Privacy Policy

Your calculator inputs — income, expenses, assets, and debts — are processed entirely in your browser. By default, we do not send your individual income, asset, or debt entries to our systems. If you choose device saving, those entries remain in this browser until you delete them. We use optional analytics and advertising technologies only according to your privacy choices where applicable. Some actions, such as subscribing or purchasing, send information to the providers identified below. Do not share a calculator link unless you understand what information it contains.
What we mean by "your data never leaves your browser"
The financial grading calculation itself — reading your entered income, expenses, assets, and debts and turning them into a letter grade — runs as JavaScript in your own browser. We do not operate a server that receives or stores your individual financial figures. That part of the claim is accurate and verifiable in our public source code.
That said, a few related things are worth being precise about, since they involve data leaving your device in some form:

Cookies and similar technologies
We use Google Analytics, which sets cookies (such as _ga and similar) to distinguish visitors and sessions. Google's documented default retention for these is around two years. We do not currently show a cookie consent banner; if you are located somewhere that requires opt-in consent before non-essential cookies load (such as the EU/UK), you may wish to use a browser extension or privacy mode that blocks analytics scripts, and we are working on adding a proper consent mechanism.
We previously used Google AdSense on this site. As of this policy's effective date, AdSense has been removed — we no longer load Google's advertising scripts or serve ads.
Local storage: what's saved on your device
In addition to your calculator inputs, the site stores the following on your own device only, never transmitted to us: your check-in history and scores, achievement badges earned, saved what-if scenarios, any goal you've set, your Pro status, and display preferences (theme, currency). You can clear all of this at any time using your browser's "clear site data" option, which fully removes it.
Your choices and rights
- Don't use the share-link or compare features if you'd rather your numbers never be encoded into a URL, even one only you control.
- Clear your browser's local storage at any time to remove all saved history, achievements, scenarios, and inputs from your device.
- Unsubscribe from any email at any time by replying to it or using the unsubscribe option, if present.
- Contact us at grademyfinance@gmail.com with any questions, deletion requests regarding your email subscription, or concerns.
International transfers
Google Analytics, Google Apps Script, and Gumroad are US-based services and may process data in the United States or other countries where they operate infrastructure. By using services that involve these providers (subscribing, purchasing Pro), your data may be processed outside your home country.
Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Security
We use standard practices such as HTTPS for data in transit, but we cannot guarantee absolute security for data sent to any third-party service (Google, Gumroad) or for links you choose to share yourself.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this page.
